Many people say that we need to make classrooms more exciting. I don’t agree. I feel that we need to design ways to make students more curious. For it is curious students who make classrooms — and the world — more exciting.

Welcome

Little things add up. Small tech skills today can stack up toward confident teachers and transformed classrooms in the future. Thanks for visiting my new site for 2018 and welcome to my learning journey. I use this site to share fun things I am learning, partial solutions to complex problems, and highlight some success stories from those around me who are also trying new things.  I hope that you find this site helpful. Let's jump in.

This temporary home page will focus on my Always On Professional Development goals at

At Busan Foreign School, we take professional development seriously. Each teacher is allowed to choose our own Personalized Professional Development Goals for the year and then PD time is preserved to help us reach these goals throughout the year.

The video above was created with Adobe Spark. It is free, very intuitive, and designed for teachers or students to make legal videos which are easy to share.  The image below was created with Canva. Canva makes it simple to make above-average looking visuals with tons of options for different purposes, formats, etc.  If you invest a little more time, you can really create visuals that you are proud of!

Personalized Professional Development

I am thankful that my current school, Busan Foreign school empowers teachers by preserving time for us to pursue our own individualized professional development goals. Below are some cross-referenced curated posts on the status of my progress toward my 2017-2018 personalized PD goals. See posts from my BFS Colleagues regarding their continued, personalized PD via the Twitter Hashtag, #BFSlearns

Webinars.
I listen to many webinar throughout the year about how to be a better teacher and how to help others with technology. Below is an example of a Google Hangout session. I also enjoy listening to new and old webinars by Steve Hargadon regarding current and future trends in education. I will make a future blog about my favorite podcasts and webinars that keep me motivated and curious.

Jostens Resources.
One advantage of using Jostens for publishing our school yearbook is that they have the benefit of helping thousands of teams from around the world create yearbooks. They have seen every hurdle and try to help empower students and teachers to overpower these hurdles. I have also spent significant time viewing the resources, curriculum and best practices provided by Jostens.
