Google Certified Educator - Level 2
Because I attend a Google Apps for Education Summit each year either as a presenter or engaged learner, I never felt the need to complete the Certified Educator training until last year. I felt pretty confident that I had the skills needed to pass the tests and tasks.
Yet, in the fall of 2016, I chose to take the Level 1 certification in order to better help colleagues who may want to go through the course. Although I did not learn many new things, I found great insiight in the way that Google teaches teachers. They are very respectful of the learner's time. They strike a nice balance between very practical uses that can be applied tomorrow and big picture ideas that could be used down the road. After a positive experience last year, I chose to get Level 2 certification this year.
Here is a link to the skills checklist of what is covered in this course. Using pivot points in Google Sheets to evaluate student responses was new for me and a part of the training that I will revisit.
I made the mistake of signing up for the test before studying the first module. After signing up, you only have seven days to complete the test. So I went through the modules very quickly. Please be advised to not repeat my mistake.
I highly encourage you to take this training. the price is very affordable, the tasks are very practical ways to be efficient with your time before and after class as well as using technology in engaging ways with your students..
